Set up your forum’s survey

The survey shows a forum what it can’t see from the inside: every member says how the forum is really doing — in ratings and in their own words — and it comes back as one report the forum reads together. Forums that take it at least once a year catch drift while it’s still easy to talk about. Here is a sample report.

Set up your forum’s survey below — choose the questions, add your members’ addresses, and each member gets their own invitation. Responses are anonymous, as always: you’ll see how many have responded, never who — and never who said what.

One address per line. Each member gets their own invitation with their own link — nothing for you to forward. You don’t need to add yourself: you’re included automatically, so you get your own survey invitation like any other member, alongside the moderator emails — status notes and the report.

Check the list before anything sends

    Is everyone in your forum included, and is every address correct? Double-check before this goes out — remove anyone with the ×, or go back to edit. Nothing sends until you press the button.

    Sent. Each member has their own link, and a copy of the send is in your inbox — check it now, while a wrong address is still easy to fix. If nothing has arrived in a few minutes, look in spam.

    Your own invitation is in your inbox too — take the survey from that link, like any other member. Your response counts toward the total.
