Feedback is a mixed instrument. A review of 607 studies found it made performance worse more than a third of the time, and the damage clustered where feedback pointed at people rather than at the work. Your Pulse points at the meeting. That seems worth protecting.

That night

The report lands seconds after you tap Generate. Worth reading once and putting down. The pull to respond is strongest when a number came in lower than you hoped, which may be the moment to wait.

What to look for

The spread, more than the average. Eight members rate meeting value 4.2. Two 6s and two 2s average 4. Four 4s average 4. One of those forums is fine. In the other, two people are quietly checked out and nobody in the room knows it.

If four numbers held steady and one dropped, that is probably the conversation. Bringing five tends to turn a debrief into a review of the meeting.

When it is about you

Airtime and how the deep dive landed are partly ratings of your facilitation. The move is to say so. "Airtime came in low. That is mine to fix." Naming that yourself tends to take the charge out of the room. Explaining the context usually reads as defense, however gently you mean it.

If answers are held

Below five responses the Pulse shows scales and holds written comments, since a written answer identifies a person by voice and phrasing. The numbers and the spread are still there.
