First Draft — Expanding Soon

Walking into your first forum meeting can feel like the first day at a new school. Here's what to expect so you can relax into it.

Your first meeting will last about two and a half hours. You'll sit in a circle — or on a video call — with 8-10 people you may not know yet. That's by design. The structure of the meeting does the work of building connection. You don't have to force it.

The meeting will follow a simple format: a personal check-in, where each person shares what's on their mind in a few minutes. Then one member will present something they're working through — a decision, a challenge, a transition. The group will explore it together, not by giving advice, but by sharing their own experiences with similar situations.

You won't be asked to present at your first meeting. You'll mostly listen and participate in the check-in. Some people share something meaningful on day one. Others take a few meetings to warm up. Both are fine.

The most common thing new members say afterward: "I didn't expect to feel that comfortable that quickly."
